When we first began this journey, our director emphasized the importance of developing a phone-based tool to ensure that individuals in underserved communities could meaningfully access and benefit from artificial intelligence.

We are encouraged to share that our partners at the U.S. Department of Labor have now developed such a tool. This represents a significant step forward in expanding access and bridging the digital divide.

The U.S. Department of Labor just launched the 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗔𝗜-𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 initiative, providing a 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘦 AI 101 course for American workers to build foundational AI skills.

The course is uniquely delivered entirely over text message and can be completed in just 10 minutes a day, over 7 days.

Any American can enroll in the course by texting 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬 to 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬𝟮.

The Make America AI-Ready initiative advances the Trump Administration's commitment to equipping American workers in the age of AI, as outlined in the AI Action Plan and America’s Talent Strategy. The AI 101 course curriculum is directly based on the five pillars of DOL’s recently released AI Literacy Framework.

The course was developed by DOL in collaboration with leading education technology company Arist, as part of the White House’s Pledge to America’s Youth, to help advance free AI education.

Sign up for the course by texting 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬 to 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟬𝟮 and learn more details at dol.gov/ai-ready
